NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (Fusion)

  • Carl Edwards, driver of the No. 99 Fusion, was the highest finishing Ford, coming in fifth in the AAA 400 at Dover International SpeedwayFellow Ford "Chasers" Matt Kenseth and Greg Biffle both went down laps on lap 189 when caution came out for debris after Kenseth blew a tire while trying to pit. As a result, Kenseth finished 18th and Biffle 19th.
  • Top five finishers in Loudon include: (1) Jimmie Johnson - Chevrolet; (2) Jeff Burton - Chevrolet; (3) Joey Logano - Toyota; (4) Kurt Busch. - Dodge; (5) Carl Edwards - Ford
  • Edwards, who entered the day 95 points behind the leader, trimmed 22 points off that deficit and is now only 73 points from the leader in sixth place. Biffle sits 140 points behind in ninth place while Kenseth is 11th and 165 points from the top spot.
  • AJ Allmendinger qualified second and led a career-high 143 laps before a cut tire put him two laps down.  He rallied to finish 10th.

    NHRA Funny Car Series (Mustang)

  • Matt Hagan, Dodge, defeated John Force, driver of the Castrol GTX High Mileage Ford Mustang Funny Car, to win O'Reilly Super Start Batteries Fall Nationals in Dallas, TX.
  • Ford drivers and their final positions include; Robert Hight (lost to John Force in round one), Tim Wilkerson (lost to John Force in round two), Bob Tasca III (lost to Del Worsham in round two), and Ashley Force Hood (lost to Matt Hagan in the semifinals)
  • Ford Racing driver point standings after the Fall Nationals (the third of six playoff events): 1st- John Force (2339), 4th- Ashley Force Hood (2271), 5th- Bob Tasca III (2215), 6th-Robert Hight (2189), and 9th- Tim Wilkerson (2147)
