SANTIAGO – On Nov. 2, a jury composed of the most influential journalists in the Chilean automotive media named Ford’s next-generation Explorer as the “Best SUV” of the 2010 Santiago International Auto Show, the Chilean Automobile exhibition where more than 45 brands participated.
The honor was awarded in a ceremony at Ford’s stand by the National Automotive Association of Chile (ANAC) and the producers of the Santiago Motor Show. The winners were selected from a field of more than 80 vehicles that were launched during the exhibition, considering variables such as technology, safety, design and relevance in the local market.
“We are very proud to receive this recognition from the specialized media, who are constantly evaluating our launches and news. Ford Explorer is one of our flagships, and we are delighted to see how visitors have been fascinated with the next generation Explorer," said Daniel Rojas, manager, Marketing, Ford Motor Company Chile.
"It’s very important for us to work together with the specialized media in order to stand out as the best launches at the Motor Show. We are very satisfied with the voting results, and believe that the winners deserve to be recognized, as they were chosen by some of the most important journalists in the field, who have substantial knowledge of the industry," said Felipe Horta, general producer, Santiago Motor Show.
The new 2011 Ford Explorer was displayed in advance at the Santiago Motor Show, and was very well evaluated by both the public and specialized media.
