SAO PAULO -- Ford Brazil Heavy Truck Operations is taking part in the 2009 FENATRAN, the International Transport Industry Trade Show. The show is the largest event in the segment in Latin America.
The fair opens to the public today, Oct. 26. However yesterday, more than 200 journalists from South America – where Ford has a strong presence in the heavy truck market – joined Ford executives to get a sneak peek at the brand new 2010 Cargo Heavy Truck lineup. During the press conference, Ford also announced the importation of the Transit Chassis-Cab, which will be available for sale in the Brazilian market in April 2010.
During the five-day event, the public can check out the 2010 Cargo lineup, with the introduction of the 2628e, 2622e, 1722e and the 1832e new models. The 2010 Cargo lineup is prepped for use as cement mixers, garbage compressors and road trains.
These new products keep the Ford tradition by offering efficient solutions and great cost-benefit options in the commercial vehicle segment. Visitors to the show also will have a chance to see the all-new Transit Chassis-Cab, which fills out Ford Brazil's Heavy Truck operations portfolio.
“Ford Heavy Trucks Operations hold more than 20 percent of the market share in South America and our brand is the market leader in several countries. The 2009 FENATRAN is a key opportunity to strongly showcase our products, especially considering our regional presence”, said Ford Heavy Truck Division Director Oswaldo Jardim.
Held biannually, FENATRAN gathers 355 exhibitors together from 15 different countries. The fair lasts through Oct. 30 and is expected to be visited by approximately 48,000 visitors and buyers.
