NICE, France — Ford has wowed the Chinese media with its first global performance car, the all-new Focus ST, during a test drive in France. Chinese driving enthusiasts will soon be able to taste the exceptional performance of the new Focus ST, which will arrive at dealers' showrooms later this year.
Ten Chinese media were invited to the global media test drive program, which attracted more than 300 media from around the world. Journalists had the chance to challenge the Focus ST on specially selected routes that combined twisty roads, fast turns, and urban driving.
With a unique 250 PS version of the new 2.0L EcoBoost engine, the new Focus ST is expected to achieve acceleration of 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 6.5 seconds.
Journalists were impressed with the Focus ST’s great cornering, thrilling handling and incomparable riding performance. All of them
actively shared their experiences on China's popular micro blogging sites like Sina weibo.
"This is the most exciting driving program I have ever participated in during the past two years. Focus ST displayed its great ride and handling on the routes in Nice, especially on the WRC (World Rally Championship) racing route. Ford’s engineering team really knows what a performance car should be and has successfully delivered the best performance car in the segment,” said Wang Wei from Car Owners, who spoke highly of the vehicle's muscular sports design and exhilarating performance.
"I want to buy one to replace my Golf GT," said Su Xiao from Car & Driver. "The sporty chassis, powerful 2.0L EcoBoost engine and a range of driver assistance features take the Focus ST's performance and handling to the next level," added Su.
