MEXICO CITY - For the third time, Mexico's Expansion magazine named Ford of Mexico the best company to work for in the country and features the company on its May cover. This result comes from an annual survey conducted by the publication, which is Mexico's top business magazine and part of the Time Warner/CNN media group.
For Ford of Mexico, employees are the most valuable asset. For this reason, it promotes a culture focused on values such as diversity, respect towards same-sex couples, gender equality, career development, leadership, communication, work-life balance, as well as Corporate Citizenship initiatives. This culture goes hand in hand with the One Ford philosophy and employees are truly committed to it. Helping each other out and working towards the same goal is the foundation for the business, which placed Ford of Mexico at the top of the best companies to work. Also, the company offers good work conditions for it people, giving them benefits that are superior to the ones required by law.
During the awards ceremony, Gale Halsey, director, Human Resources for Ford of Mexico, thanked employees for their hard work and commitment declaring that, "Without our people the company would not be the same, they are the heart of the organization." In her
speech, she also explained that leadership is fundamental for the proper functioning of the company. Supervisors need to coach and motivate their teams; employees on the other hand, have to grain the supervisors´ trust with the quality of their work.
Thanks to this culture, Ford of Mexico has a low employee rotation rate and employees remain loyal even after having worked for many years at the company. Gale also stated that this award represents a true commitment to continue improving and offering favorable work conditions.
