HERMOSILLO, Mexico - Twenty-six years ago, Ford of Mexico inaugurated the Hermosillo Stamping and Assembly Plant (HSAP), one of the most modern plants in the Mexican automotive industry, due to the incorporation of a flexible manufacturing system.
Throughout its history, the plant’s production lines have seen the manufacturing process of some of Ford’s iconic vehicles: Mercury Tracer, two door; Escort Tracer, sedan and four-door wagon; Escort Coupé, sedan and wagon; Focus ZX3; Focus ZX5; Focus SVT; Ford Fusion and Lincoln MKZ.
Driven by Ford’s Green pillar, HSAP is always seeking new ways to be more environmentally responsible. The plant recently received, for the second time in a row, the Corporate Environmental Merit Award in the large business category awarded by the Commission of Ecology and Sustainable Development of the State of Sonora (CEDES).
"We are very proud of our history in Mexico," said José Islas, director, Manufacturing, Ford of Mexico. "Celebrating the 26th anniversary of the plant in Hermosillo, responsible for manufacturing two of the company’s most iconic vehicles, confirms our commitment with the growth of the company and the country."
Please join us in the celebration of HSAP’s anniversary!
