COLOGNE, July 10, 2014 – Ford of Germany has received a prestigious award in recognition of its long-standing contribution to community projects.
The National Network for Civic Engagement (BBE) has selected Ford as its "member of the month 2014".
Ford for many years has operated a Community Involvement programme in Germany which enables all employees to take two days paid leave per year to devote to charitable projects.
The Ford Fund, founded in 1949 by Henry Ford II in the U.S., is also now active in Germany, providing financial support to education programmes, road safety initiatives and volunteer projects.
Ford of Germany has also been nominated for a renowned "CSR Award of the Federal Government 2014". The prize is awarded to companies based in Germany that contribute to a sustainable, ecologically and socially responsible economy. The winners will be announced in Berlin on September 17.
