OAKVILLE — Ford Motor Company of Canada, Ltd. sales jumped 10 per cent in September, the second best September sales on record. The increase was driven by strong car sales, which increased 15 per cent. With a 10 per cent increase in overall sales last month, Ford of Canada was the top-selling automaker in September and continues to lead the industry in sales this year.
Car sales were fueled by gains in sales of the all-new Ford Fiesta, up 64 per cent, Fusion, up 20 per cent and Mustang with a 10 per cent increase.
Truck sales continue to be strong, with the Ford F-Series experiencing its best September on record, increasing 27 per cent. Ford F-150 sales rose 32 per cent, as well as Edge and Explorer, up four per cent and eight per cent respectively. Lincoln sales increased 33 per cent in September.
