OAKVILLE, Ont., – For the fifth consecutive month in 2014, Ford Motor Company of Canada, Ltd. maintained sales leadership in August. Overall sales were up three per cent, driven by increases in Lincoln sales, up 90 per cent, truck sales, up 10 per cent, and SUV/SCUV sales, up 23 per cent.
Increases in SUV/CUV sales can be attributed to increases in sales of the Escape, Edge and Explorer, up 22 per cent, 10 per cent and 37 per cent respectively – the best month of August on record for all three.
Overall truck sales rose 10 per cent in August, with sales of E-Series and Transit Connect up 63 per cent and 27 per cent respectively. Additionally, C-MAX sales rose two per cent in August.
Month-over-month increases in Lincoln MKC sales continued to help drive overall Lincoln sales in August, which were up 90 per cent. Sales increases were fuelled by increases in the Lincoln MKX and Navigator, up 16 per cent and 29 per cent respectively.
