SAO PAULO - Ford was one of the big winners in “The best of Brazil” election, held by Jornal do Carro - the country's most respected automotive supplement and a reference in the sector - in its anniversary edition issued on August 3rd. Ford was one of the only automakers to win three of the 17 categories, along with Volkswagen and Renault. The supplement, which completed 29 years, compared more than 170 models priced up to R$ 100,000 (U.S. $61,462).

The 2012 Ford Ka, launched to the Brazilian press last July and which arrive to the dealers this month, was the winner of the "Entry Hatch" category. In the evaluation by Jornal do Carro, the "Ka wins by lower price and superior performance." The 2012 Ka left behind the competitors Fiat Uno, Chevrolet Celta, Renault Clio and VW Gol.

In the "Medium Hatchback" category, the Ford Focus won the election for the second consecutive time, beating rivals Fiat Bravo, Hyundai i30, Citroën C4, Peugeot 307 and VW Golf. "The Focus is distinguished by good mechanical set and for having the better handling of the segment, besides the competitive price," highlights the comparative test. In 2008, the Ford Focus previous-generation also had won this category.

For the third consecutive year, the Ford Fusion was named the great champion of the "Big Sedan" category. According to the Jornal do Carro team, "the main trumps are the cost-benefit ratio and the versions' variety, which includes the best value for money hybrid of the country." The Ford sedan beat rivals such as Chevrolet Malibu, Honda Accord and Hyundai Azzera.

SÃO PAULO - A Ford foi uma das grandes vencedoras da eleição "Os Melhores do Brasil", realizada pelo Jornal do Carro – o suplemento automotivo mais respeitado do país e referência no setor –  na sua edição especial de aniversário publicada em 03 de agosto. A Ford foi uma das únicas montadoras a vencer em três das 17 categorias, ao lado de Volkswagen e Renault. O suplemento, que completou 29 anos, comparou mais de 170 modelos com preços até R$ 100 mil.

O Ford Ka 2012, apresentado para a imprensa brasileira em julho e que chega as lojas este mês, foi o vencedor da categoria "Hatch de Entrada". Na avaliação do Jornal do Carro, o "Ka vence por preço menor e desempenho superior". O Ka 2012 deixou para trás os concorrentes Fiat Uno, Chevrolet Celta, Renault Clio e VW Gol.

Na categoria "Hatch médio", o Ford Focus venceu os rivais Fiat Bravo, Hyundai i30, Citroën C4, Peugeot 307 e VW Golf e conquistou o bicampeonato. "O Focus se destaca pelo bom conjunto mecânico e por ter a melhor dirigibilidade do segmento, além de preço competitivo", ressalta o comparativo. Em 2008, a geração anterior do Ford Focus também havia conquistado a vitória da categoria.

Pela 3ª vez consecutiva desde 2009, quando os modelos produzidos no México passaram a disputar a eleição, o Ford Fusion é o grande campeão da categoria "Seda Grande". De acordo com a equipe do Jornal do Carro, "principais trunfos são a relação custo-benefício e a variedade de versões, que inclui a híbrida mais em conta do País". O sedã da Ford venceu rivais como Chevrolet Malibu, Honda Accord e Hyundai Azzera.
