Thousands of readers of Spanish magazine Autopista have been voting for their “Best Cars 2012.” In the minivan category, the Ford S-MAX was the winner with 9.3% of the vote, followed by the Citroën C4 Picasso (8.2%) and Seat Alhambra (8%). The segment had the same top three models last year.
Auto Verde 4x4
Spanish off road magazine Auto Verde 4x4 rates new Ford Ranger as the most comfortable pick-up in the market.
It reports: “The new Ford Ranger is noticeably bigger, and its higher waistline helps to achieve an image of robustness and strength. It promises a roomier interior, especially in the rear seats, where the Ranger is
comparable to SUVs in terms of width and legroom. As usual, the presentation is impeccable....
“This version is equipped with a 2.2 Duratorq engine and six-speed transmission with intelligent gear spacing. On the road, we are impressed by the Ranger’s smoothness and low noise levels. Ford did an excellent job on the soundproofing. With its spacious, quiet cabin and exquisitely engineered suspension, the Ranger is the most comfortable pick-up truck in the market. “
BBC Top Gear
Meanwhile, the UK’s BBC Top Gear is predicting great things for the new Ford B-MAX: “Say hello to Ford’s P.C.M.A.V. (premium compact multi activity vehicle). Or, in normal speak the B-Max. Built around the Fiesta’s architecture it’s actually 11cm longer than a five-door Fiesta but 32cm shorter than the latest C-Max. It’s a convenient package: easy to park with sliding rear doors and, crucially, no B-pillars. So it’ll be great around town and easy to throw the kids in.”
