BRENTWOOD, UK - Ford of Britain has beaten off stiff competition from businesses to win the title of Fleet Hero at this year’s Energy Saving Trust Fleet Hero Awards.
The company scooped the prize for “Innovation in Car and Van Manufacturing” at the 2012 award ceremony, which took place at the Institute of Directors (IoD) in London.
The Energy Saving Trust Fleet Hero Awards aim to identify public and private organisations that are successfully reducing fuel bills and lowering carbon footprints through better transport policies and improved fleet efficiency. The Energy Saving Trust also recognises companies that supply cost and fuel saving products or services to fleets.
Philip Sellwood, chief executive of the Energy Saving Trust, said: “I would like to congratulate Ford Motor Company Ltd on winning an Energy Saving Trust Fleet Hero Award.
“Ford Motor Company Ltd has set a great example to others and has shown how innovation, leadership and effective management in this area of the business can not only help us meet the UK’s sustainability targets but also make significant cost savings in the process.”
