HO CHI MINH CITY, Vietnam — The best technicians and service staff from 17 authorised Ford dealers across Vietnam joined the sixth Technician Skills Contest at Phu My Ford, Ho Chi Minh City, as part of ongoing initiatives aimed at further enhancing Ford customer satisfaction.
This year’s competition was more challenging than ever as the contestants had to showcase not only their practical skills but also communication skills in order to take Ford’s service to the next level.
“Providing excellent after-sales service is essential to increasing customer satisfaction and enhancing brand loyalty at Ford dealers across the country,” said Vu Hoang Lam, service manager, Ford Vietnam.
This year, the contest aimed to improve the assessment of practical work with simulation tests rather than theoretical questions, and focused more on communication skills and problem solving skills of the service teams. Technicians demonstrated their diagnostic skills, using a computer system to identify and correct actual “bugged” vehicles in timed exercises. This was also the first time vehicle part managers had joined the competition.
“The Technician Skills Competition has helped fully improve skills of technicians and all service personnel as well as the quality of service at Ford’s dealers over the past years. The winners of previous years are now all mature and have become managers or key forces at Ford’s dealers. Therefore, we believe that this is a great motivation as well as a good environment for our dealer service teams to grow in order to meet more demands and improve customer satisfaction,” said Vu.
During the contest, Le Minh Tue, technician at Ben Thanh Ford, Ho Chi Minh City, achieved the Best Technician award while Thanh Xuan Ford won the Best Dealer award.
“I believe the challenges from this competition will strengthen my skills, and fuel my passion for providing the highest level of quality service to customers,” said Nguyen Minh Tue.
The Technician Skills Contest is an annual activity that Ford Vietnam organises for its dealer staff, not only honoring the best individuals but also showing their relentless efforts to bring to Vietnamese customers the highest quality service.
