 Ford Vietnam Wins Golden Dragon Award for the 12th Time

HANOI, Vietnam — Today, Ford Vietnam was awarded the Golden Dragon Award for the 12th consecutive year. The award was granted by the Vietnam Economic Times Newspaper, Ministry of Planning and Investment, Ministry of Information and Communications, Vietnam Union of Scientific and Technology Associations, and the Vietnam Economic Association. Held under the theme of "Green Business", this year's Golden Dragon Awards are especially meaningful to Ford Vietnam, given the company’s investment in fuel efficiency and environmentally-friendly products. 
 
“We are incredibly proud to receive this Golden Dragon Award, which recognizes Ford Vietnam’s continuous efforts to provide segment-leading products, meeting our customers’ needs and values with a world class customer service experience,” said Jesus Metelo Arias, managing director, Ford Vietnam.
 
The Golden Dragon Awards are held annually and are seen as one of the country’s most prestigious business accolades. Launched in 2001, the awards have come to be held in high regard by businesses, management authorities and the public. The awards recognize foreign companies operating in Vietnam that have achieved outstanding business performance and made significant contributions to the development of the country’s economy.
 
This year, the Ministry of Science and Technology highlighted the company’s innovative EcoBoost engine. The EcoBoost engine was used for the first time in Vietnam in the Ford Fiesta, the company’s popular small car model. The introduction of this technology forms part of Ford's commitment to providing consumers with the most fuel efficient cars.
 
During Ford’s 20 years of operation in Vietnam, the company has continuously sought to introduce innovative products based on the most modern technologies, while increasing their vehicles’ fuel efficiency through rigorous testing and providing high quality customer experience. The company’s “One Ford” strategy aims to produce vehicles to meet the needs, wants and expectations of customers worldwide, ensuring that consumers are getting the latest technologies across all markets.
 
In 2013, Ford Vietnam announced its retail sales increased by 71 percent with 8,177 vehicles sold, positioning Ford as the third largest vehicle manufacturer in the local industry, and making it one of the fastest growing automakers in the country, playing a major part in helping the recovery of the automotive industry in Vietnam.
 
In addition, Ford has also reaffirmed their commitment to long-term investments in Vietnam, which focuses on training human resources, equipping plants with modern facilities, expanding the dealer network across the country to support the company’s continued growth and providing a world-class customer service experience.
 
Ford Vietnam also regularly carries out social and environmental programs, such as its Ford Global Week of Caring and Safe and Eco-friendly Driving initiatives. Recently, the company’s Hai Duong Ford Factory was awarded the Health & Safety Award by Ford Motors’ global president for their Tobacco-free Plant 2012-2014 plan. This is one of Ford Vietnam’s efforts to ensure the health and safety of its workers.
