GENEVA, Switzerland – Ford Motor Company CEO Alan Mulally and Ford of Europe chairman and CEO Stephen Odell have unveiled the all-new Ford B-MAX, the production-ready Fiesta ST, the all-new Kuga and the Tourneo Custom Concept at the Geneva Motor Show.
Ford is also showcasing two key new Focus models in Geneva, underlining its commitment to a sustainable automotive future - the Focus Electric and Focus 1.0-litre EcoBoost.
"We’re delivering strongly on our commitment to keep the Ford product line-up the freshest in the business," said Odell. "Our new Ford B-MAX really challenges traditional thinking, and delivers a unique approach, not attempted by any other manufacturer.
“The new Fiesta ST, Kuga and Tourneo Custom Concept are three very different products, but they all have an entirely customer-focused approach in common,” he added. “The Focus Electric and Focus 1.0-litre EcoBoost deliver on our commitment to a sustainable automotive future.”
B-MAX Opens Doors to New Small Car Thinking
Ford’s Easy Access Door System offers style and unrivalled practicality, with unobstructed entry and exit through hinged front doors and sliding rear doors which integrate the central body pillars. B-MAX delivers best-in-class fuel economy and CO₂ emissions.
B-MAX also signals the European debut of Ford’s voice-activated in-car connectivity system, SYNC, including Emergency Assistance.
Fiesta ST – Global Debut of Performance Hatchback
The all-new Fiesta ST will be 20 per cent more powerful than its predecessor. The 180PS, 1.6-litre EcoBoost engine is estimated to cover 0-100kmh acceleration in under seven seconds and have a top speed of more than 220km/h.
Significant improvements also are delivered through the introduction of a specially-tuned chassis that sits 15mm lower than the standard car, Ford’s enhanced Torque Vectoring Control (eTVC) system and three Electronic Stability Control modes, all of which were put to the test over 5,000km of driving on Germany’s Nürburgring Nordschleife.
Ford Kuga – Smarter, More Stylish, More Spacious
Ford takes the current Kuga’s successful formula and improves it; introducing a hands-free automatic tailgate which can be opened and closed simply by sweeping a foot under the rear bumper, 82-litres of extra boot-space and rear seats that fold flat at the touch of a button.
Ford also improves driving dynamics, enhances all-wheel drive, adds a 1.6-litre EcoBoost petrol engine to the range for improved fuel efficiency and fits SYNC with Emergency Assistance.
Tourneo Custom Concept Unveiled
The Ford Tourneo Custom Concept heralds the introduction of a completely new range of vehicles.
Based on the same Kinetic Design principles demonstrated by Ford's latest passenger car range, the Tourneo Custom Concept has a dynamic and very modern appearance which will attract a whole new generation of customers. It also comes with a choice of latest driver assistance technologies as well as SYNC with Emergency Assistance.
Focus – Two Versions Indicate Greener Future
Two exciting Focus models, the 1.0-litre EcoBoost and the Focus Electric show the way to a more sustainable automotive future, joining a growing line-up of energy efficient ECOnetic technology-badged vehicles that are leaders of, or among the very best in, their segment in terms of energy efficiency.
