BRENTWOOD, England – Ford’s UK market leadership strengthen in November with three models among the country’s top six best-sellers: Fiesta (1st), Focus (2nd) and Transit (6th).
According to official figures released today by the London-based Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), Ford was car and total vehicle sales leader in November and for the year to date.
For the year to date, total Ford car sales were 291,369, up from 266,261 for the same period in 2012. Ford total vehicle sales for the year to date were 357,213, up from 328,238. Ka, Fiesta, B-MAX, Focus, C-MAX and Kuga all increase sales and share for the year to date.
Ford’s share of retail car sales in November advanced 0.1 of a percentage point to 11.3 per cent, compared with November 2012. For the year to date, retail share was up 0.8 of a percentage point, at 13.1 per cent.
Industry-wide UK car sales in November were up 7.0 per cent to 159,581 units, compared with November 2012. For the year to date total UK car sales were 2,111,819 – up 9.9 per cent compared with 2012.
Total industry UK commercial vehicle sales in November were up 21.5 per cent, compared with November 2012, and for the year to date they were up 8.7 per cent. Total sales of Ford CVs for the year to date were up from 63,129 to 67,131. Ford medium commercials, headed by the Transit, increased sales and share in November and for the year to date.
