 Ford Transit Custom Ambulances to the Rescue for Bavarian Red Cross

​COLOGNE, Germany - The Bavarian Red Cross (BRK) has taken delivery of the first four of 300 brand new Ford Transit Custom ambulances.

The vehicles, based on a medium wheelbase, front-wheel drive Ford Transit Custom FT 330 Kombi, have been modified by Ambulance Mobile GmbH & Co. KG in Beck, Germany, and are powered by Ford’s 2.2-liter TDCi diesel engine producing 92 kW (125 hp)

The transits will be put to work with the Bavarian Red Cross, St John’s Ambulance, Maltese Forum and Workers Samaritan.
 
Ford commercial vehicles have formed the backbone of Bavaria’s ambulance fleet since 2009 and more than 400 units have been supplied to date.
