Ford Targets Guinness World Record with Photo Competition Supporting New Fiesta Launch

DATE: Will be calculated from "Release Start Date" field.

DUNTON, England - To celebrate the launch of the New Fiesta, Ford is attempting to achieve a Guinness World Record through a ‘Social Photo’ competition based on photo submissions of Ford vehicles around the theme of 24 hours.

Ford is targeting social media influencers and Fiesta fans across Europe,  offering the chance to win a personalised, 3D printed model of the new Fiesta, branded with their Twitter handle.  Created by 3D laser printing specialists 3D Creation Lab, the competition prizes showcase a 3D printing technology similar to that used for the Rapid Prototyping of many Ford parts and products.

Ford is one of the first companies to use this 3D printing technique in its marketing activities. To see how this innovative technology was used to create a New Ford Fiesta, see the video here: 3D Printing Film

The competition has a weekly theme associated with 24 hours as follows:

21st-27th Nov: ‘Morning’
28th-4th Dec: ‘Midday’
5th-11th Dec: ‘Afternoon’
12th-18th Dec: ‘Evening’

If more than 10,000 images are submitted, Ford will gain entry to the Guinness book of World Records.

To celebrate the Launch of the New Fiesta and to support the record attempt, Ford Employees are invited to collect/create as many pictures as they can of Ford Vehicles with themselves, their friends, family and colleagues, and submit them via Facebook, Instagram or Twitter (using the #’weekly theme’ #Fiesta24 #FordFamily tags).

All Employees must use the #FordFamily #tag to distinguish themselves as Ford employees to be entered into the Employee Prize Draw, where 50 selected employee winners will each receive a personalised 3D printed model of the New Fiesta.
