BUDAPEST, Hungary - Ford retained its position as Hungary’s favourite car manufacturer in 2013 as sales jumped 8.8 per cent to 7,879 units.
The result gives Ford a 10.8 per cent car market share in Hungary – up 0.2 per cent compared with the previous year and 1.7 per cent more than the next best-selling brand.
Ford sold on average 21 new cars every day in Hungary in 2013 and the company’s performance in the light commercial vehicle sector was just as impressive.
A market share of 20.5 per cent means that one-in-five light commercial vehicles registered in Hungary last year had a Blue Oval on the bonnett.
Andrea Kővágó-Laky, Managing Director, Ford of Hungary said: “We are gaining momentum in Hungary and with the arrival of new models and technologies in 2014 we are in a strong position to increase our market lead further.”
