Brentwood, ENGLAND - Ford of Britain has been named one of the South East England’s best employers in the regional final of the National Apprenticeship Awards and National Training Awards 2012. Ford ex-apprentice Lauren Bradford was also ‘highly commended’ in the category ‘Apprentice Champion of the Year’.
Ford was ‘highly commended’ in the category of ‘Macro Employer of the Year’, for its commitment to developing its workforce and showcasing the benefits gained through apprenticeships, both in the Ford dealer network and in Ford engineering programmes. Lauren was recognised for being an ex-apprentice who has gone on to further significant achievements since completing her apprenticeship and for her efforts proactively championing the programme.
Tessa Hougham, Ford apprenticeship manager, said: “Ford is committed to playing an important role in training and developing the future UK workforce, offering vocational career paths into engineering, manufacturing and dealerships, and providing jobs and career progression opportunities for existing employees. Lauren is a great example of the success of our Apprenticeship programme and she is a great credit to Ford.”
After completing her Advanced Apprenticeship in Manufacturing at Ford, Lauren went on to graduate with a degree in Automotive Engineering and she is now working at the Dunton Technical Centre in Essex as a programme engineer.
