COLOGNE, Germany – New Ford Ranger pickup trumped Nissan’s Navara in a head-to-head showdown staged by German publication
Auto Bild Allrad.
The magazine compared a 200PS 3.2 TDCi Ranger against a 3.0 V6 dCi Navara in the categories Body/Interior, Engine/Transmission/Handling, Off Road Qualities and Costs.
The Ford Ranger won the test with a total of 514 out of 800 points. It also won the categories Body/Interior, Off Road Qualities and Costs. Nissan’s Navara won the Engine/Transmission/Handling category, but placed second overall with a total of 505 points.
VERDICT : A lot of truck for the money: With extra equipment not taken into account, the 200PS Ford is not more expensive than a comparably tiny VW Tiguan. Compared with the Nissan, Ford wins this test. It costs 4,500 Euros less than the Navara and also comes at an affordable price and boasts a roomy cab.
