MUNTINLUPA, Philippines — On July 11, Ford Philippines went on a medical and dental mission to a Gawad Kalinga (GK) (means to give care) Village in Barangay Putatan, Soldiers Hills.  This outreach program was in celebration of Ford Philippines’ first year anniversary of operations since moving to Muntinlupa City.

More than 30 volunteers from Ford participated in this CSR activity, which was is in partnership with American Chamber of Commerce and Urban Poor Administration office of Muntinlupa Three medical doctors, eight dentists, and three nurses were present to consult with and treat around 230 beneficiaries.
The volunteers arrived at the site early in the morning to set up the venue for the families availing of the services. By 9am, the venue was filled with parents and children needing medical attention and dental care.  The volunteers assisted with registering patients, administering medicine and supplies, and organizing games and activities to keep the children entertained.
This activity is just the second of Ford Philippines’ planned CSR activities for the year—Ford Philippines has quarterly CSR activities—all of which are in line with Ford’s global mission to make the world a better place for everyone.

On September 12, during Global Week of Caring, Ford Philippines employee volunteers will help paint houses and assist in another medical and dental mission for the families in another GK Village in San Pedro, Laguna.
“There are so many communities of underprivileged families in the Philippines, and Ford wishes to help these families by organizing activities like these that help improve the quality of life,” said Josephine Gonzalez, AVP, Government Affairs, Ford Philippines. “Being good corporate citizens is an essential part of the One Ford plan and our Ford team here in the Philippines is truly committed to take action with the various CSR programs set throughout the year.”
