Focus Scores Points in Morocco
Team Aon scored its first points in the FIA World Touring Car Championship after Tom Chilton and James Nash claimed strong finishes in their Ford Focus cars in Morocco. Chilton finished seventh in the opening race around the challenging street circuit in Marrakech, only the team’s third WTCC round. Nash retired after being catapulted into a wall. Despite substantial damage, rapid repairs enabled him to start the second race from pole position. Nash led until the fifth lap and fought valiantly to finish sixth, despite the damage. Chilton retired from eighth after being squeezed into the pit wall. Nash’s sixth place was the highest finish for a Ford car in the WTCC.
