JAKARTA, Indonesia — With the fasting month of Ramadan coming to a close, millions of Indonesian are preparing their annual homecoming journey. To help provide peace of mind to its customers during the festive season, Ford Motor Indonesia (FMI) is launching Ford Lebaran Siaga 2013.
"This year, approximately 17.4 million people will return to their hometowns to celebrate Eid-al Fitr. This is a 4.5 percent increase compared to 2012," said Bambang Ervan, spokesman at the Indonesian transport ministry. "As usual, most of the traffic will be concentrated in Java and Bali, with some concentration in Sumatra."
Prior to the homecoming period, from 24 July-2 August, Ford will provide a 10 percent discount on services and discount privileges on various spare parts to Ford owners in Java preparing for the journey. These include a 20 percent discount on brake pads package (front and rear pads) and clutch package (clutch and pressure plate), as well as a 25 percent discount on a service maintenance package (air filter and oil filter), drive belts, timing belts, and wiper blades, all of which are necessary in ensuring a smooth and safe trip.
During the homecoming period, from 3-13 August, Ford will provide workshops operating 24 hours a day at all dealerships throughout Java and Bali. Dealerships participating in the program include Ford Jakarta Timur, Ford Jakarta Pusat, Ford Bekasi, Ford Jakarta Barat, Ford Tangerang, Ford Kelapa Gading, Ford Pluit, Ford Jakarta Selatan, Ford Bandung, Ford Cirebon, Ford Semarang, Ford Kudus, Ford Surabaya Fortune and Ford Denpasar. In addition to Java and Bali dealerships, Ford workshops in Palembang, Pekanbaru, and Medan in Sumatra, will also open in normal working hours during holidays.
In addition to 24-hour workshops, Ford is also providing its customers with 24-hour mobile service units, as well as around-the-clock parts supply arrangements, emergency roadside assistance, and a customer call center, to further ensure peace of mind and driving confidence for its customers. This year, the 24-hour mobile service is provided in four additional locations that will cover the homecoming route of Merak, Puncak, Yogyakarta, Cikampek, Greater Bandung, Greater Surabaya, Greater Semarang, and Greater Denpasar.
As a follow up, Ford will provide customers with a 30 percent discount on Ford’s recommended motor oil, and a free safety check-up coupon. The coupon can be redeemed at any Ford dealership nationwide following the homecoming period, from 15-31 August. The free safety check-up includes drive belts, idle speed, battery electrolyte and battery fill, brake and clutch pedals, clutch fluid, break lines, hose and connection, brake fluid, power brake unit and hoses, air filter, and tire pressure checks.
"Ford Lebaran Siaga 2013 aims to deliver peace of mind to all of our Ford customers during the homecoming period, so they can get home quickly and safely to their families," said Bagus Susanto, managing director, FMI.
