BANGKOK, Thailand — Ford Motor Company launched two new models to kick-off the 29th Thailand International Motor Expo, including the all-new Ranger 2.5L petrol variant and the Australian-built, all-new Ford Territory 2.7L premium SUV.
Matt Bradley, president, Ford ASEAN and Yukontorn Wisadkosin, vice president, Marketing, Sales and Service, Ford Thailand, announced the arrival of Ford's two new models at the Ford booth in front of more than 200 media.
A crew of Ford dancers kicked off the exciting presentation with an electrifying SYNC® live dance, showcasing Ford's smart in-car connectivity system that meets the active digital lifestyle of today's customers.
“We introduced SYNC this year in our all-new Ford Focus which is packed with smart technologies, including Active Park Assist, Active City Stop, Blind Spot Information System, and Active Grill Shutter, which all together significantly raise the bar in the compact segment,” said Bradley.
The all-new Ford Focus which is the latest global One Ford vehicle launched in ASEAN, has built on the strong momentum for Ford's product-led transformation in Thailand and contributed to the company's outstanding sales performance this year. Ford Thailand has delivered record sales in six of the ten months this year, and more than doubled its market share so far in 2012.
“The popularity and success of our best-in-class Fiesta, the class-defining all-new Ford Ranger and all-new Ford Focus has helped drive our sales up 70 percent this year,” said Yukontorn.
Ford's presence at the Motor Expo reflects the momentum and the energy around the Ford brand, with the Ford stand packed with a number of exciting and interactive components as well as Ford’s full vehicle lineup in Thailand that has now grown by the two terrific additions with today’s launches.
The all-new Ford Ranger 2.5L uses independent variable cam technology for enhanced performance and fuel economy, delivering class-leading 166HP and 226Nm torque. It is engineered to reliably use E20 fuel and minimise emissions.
Offering customers the comfort they want upfront and best-in-class payload capacity in the back, this petrol variant continues to expand the popularity of the all-new Ranger, which has now surpassed 37,500 customer bookings since being launched in Thailand.
Following an overwhelming response from consumers at the Bangkok International Motor Show in March, Ford is launching the Australian-built, all-new Ford Territory premium SUV. This luxurious seven-seat vehicle, which has the versatility of a SUV with car-like dynamics, features a 2.7L TDCi V6 VG Turbo diesel engine with six-speed automatic transmission that delivers 190HP and class-leading 440 Nm of torque.
Ford is displaying a total of six nameplates to match a spectrum of Thai consumers. They include the class-leading all-new Ford Focus, all-new Ford Ranger, all-new Ford Territory, Ford Fiesta, Ford Escape and Ford Everest.
The Ford stand also includes the ‘After-Sales Service’ zone, where visitors can experience the all-new Ford Focus from a completely new angle. The vehicle is flipped on its side and Ford technicians will take consumers through the detailed process of servicing this smart technology-packed vehicle.
In addition to the After-Sales Service zone representing Quality, highlights include the Smart area, featuring the technologies of the all-new Ford Focus.
A graphic wall tells the smart tech stories of the vehicle, while a Ford SYNC display unit gives visitors a hands-on experience with this award-winning, next-generation voice-activated connectivity system.
Visitors can also test their gaming skills with the interactive Microsoft Kinect® Reverse Park Assist game, which demonstrates how the all-new Ford Focus’s first-in-market Active Park Assist technology works.
Finally, Ford is providing a photographer on the stand each day to capture special moments with visitors and upload them to the Ford Thailand Facebook page.
The 29th Thailand International Motor Expo 2012 runs from 29 November -10 December at Impact Challenger, Muang Thong Thani.
