Ford Korea Announces Polaris Auto as Third Dealer; Expands Nationwide Sales and Service Network

DATE: Will be calculated from "Release Start Date" field.

SEOUL – Ford Sales and Service Korea is expanding its operations into the northern region of Seoul and the northeastern region of Gyeonggi-do. Ford Korea recently signed a letter of intent with Polaris Auto Co. Ltd. to sell and service Ford and Lincoln vehicles in areas where Ford does not currently have a presence.

With the addition of Polaris Auto and its existing dealers, Sunin Motors and Premier Motors, Ford Korea continues to build its sales and service network in South Korea in order to expand its presence and strengthen customer satisfaction.

Ford Korea announced in August that it would add a third official dealer, and selected Polaris Auto because of its position as a leading service provider in import automobile sales. Yoo Jong-Han, CEO of Polaris Auto, has a keen understanding of the Korean import industry, having served as a previous sales leader for BMW Korea.

By the end of this year, Polaris Auto will establish new Ford showrooms and service centers in five areas – Yongsan, Mia, Eunpyeong, Guri and Uijeongbu.

Ford Korea President Jae Jung said “with Polaris Auto’s experience and success in the import automobile market, Ford Korea aims to provide Ford and Lincoln’s best products and the highest level of service for imported auto buyers in the northern region of Seoul and the northeastern region of Gyeonggi-do.”

Ford Korea currently operates 21 showrooms and 21 service centers across the nation. With the addition of Polaris to its dealer network, Ford Korea is expected to continue its growth by leveraging the wider network for more aggressive sales and differentiated services.

Ford Korea is coming off the best year in its history, having sold 5,126 vehicles in 2012, up 23 percent compared with 2011. With five all-new or significantly refreshed product introductions last year, Ford has the freshest product range in the import industry and its most-expansive lineup ever in Korea.

In 2013, Ford plans to further expand its offerings with the introduction of its first diesel model, Focus Diesel, an all-new Fusion Hybrid, all-new Lincoln MKZ and Lincoln MKZ Hybrid. With a new diesel and two new hybrid offerings, Ford will offer the widest range of fuel efficient engine options in the import industry.
