JAKARTA, Indonesia — Offering a complete package of quality, fuel-economy, safety, and smart features, Ford's segment-leading vehicles continue to dazzle Indonesian consumers. Two weeks after receiving four awards at the prestigious Otomotif Awards, Ford has picked up three more awards at the 2013 Autocar Readers Choice Awards (ARCA).
Ford's tough truck, the all-new Ranger, was named the Best Double Cabin, while the all-new Focus sedan received the Special Honorary Award for Safety. In addition, Ford Motor Indonesia (FMI)'s managing director, Bagus Susanto, also received a Special Honorary Award for Automotive Man of the Year.
Autocar, one of the leading automotive publications in Indonesia, invited its readers and the general public to participate in the 2013 Reader’s Choice Awards. Over a period of six months, from September 2012 to February 2013, Indonesian consumers were able pick their favorite car by submitting a survey form inserted in the magazine, or via online voting at Autocar's website.
"The 2013 ARCA reflects what Indonesian consumers want and expect from a car," said Octo Budhiarto, editor-in-chief, Autocar Indonesia, opening the event.
"We hope the awards will be beneficial for both automakers and auto consumers. For the automakers, the award can be a gauge to evaluate and improve their product offering. On the other hand, the award showcases the best the automotive industry can offer that consumers can select from."
"Ford is very proud to receive these awards. They are another proof point of the success of our One Ford plan in providing products that are truly appreciated by the Indonesian consumers," said Bagus.
