RAYONG, Thailand — Ford Thailand organized an exclusive tour of its new, state-of-the-art USD450 million Ford Thailand Manufacturing (FTM) plant as part of a special programme for its all-new ‘Ford Focus VIP Premiere’ customers – the first customers to place orders for the all-new Focus, which is now being built at the plant.
This Ford Focus VIP Premier programme, specially developed for Thailand, provides members with a series of unique opportunities and privileges, including the exclusive tour of FTM. Ford celebrated the official launch of production for the all-new Focus on June 26.
During the tour, more than 300 Ford Focus VIP Premier guests were able to observe Ford’s global manufacturing processes and systems that help to ensure world-class quality and safety of the vehicles. This included viewing one of the world’s fastest stamping presses, the latest automotive manufacturing robot technologies in the body shop, trim and final assembly, and quality assurance.
Customers had a chance to see all eight colors of the all-new Focus and got up-close and personal with vehicles as they rolled off the line at final inspection. As a souvenir of their visit, each customer and their guest received a photo of themselves with the all-new Focus in a Ford frame.
“We’re thrilled to be hosting our Ford Focus VIP Premier customers at our new, world-class facility, and it’s clear that they are equally as thrilled to be witnessing this state-of-the-art plant producing their very own all-new Focus vehicles,” said Peter Fleet, president, Ford ASEAN. “We’re truly demonstrating how Ford is going further in today’s market to ensure an unmatched customer service experience for each new Ford customer that we acquire.”
The production line that customers observed at FTM is designed for maximum flexibility, enabling the plant to produce six different types of vehicles simultaneously. This allows the company to bring new vehicles to market faster, and test new vehicles while maintaining full production speed.
The all-new Ford Focus is the first model to be built at the FTM facility, which reinforces the strategic role of Thailand as a volume production and export hub for the region. The all-new Focus produced at FTM will be for sale in Thailand, as well as for export to Asia-Pacific markets.
Ford plans to officially launch the all-new Focus in Thailand in August. The all-new Focus is the next of eight all-new One Ford vehicles that the company is planning to launch by mid-decade.
“The Ford Focus VIP Premier programme is an excellent way for Ford to provide special opportunities for our customers and further enhance the Ford ownership experience,” said Adisai Sirisinha, marketing director, Ford Thailand. “The programme has helped to underscore Ford’s continued commitment to customers, as well as to Thailand.”
