Ford Figo Makes Inroads into Fleets Across India

DATE: Will be calculated from "Release Start Date" field.

NEW DELHI — Twenty-five shining new Ford Figos stood in a line on the front yard of Harpreet Ford in Gurgaon, signifying yet another win for Ford’s popular compact in India. The occasion was the delivery of these cars to the fleet operator ABP travels, one of the leading tour operators in Gurgaon.

Handing over the keys to the proprietor of ABP Travels, Vinay Piparsania, Ford India’s executive director, Marketing, Sales and Service said, “This is yet another instance of our reliable, fuel-efficient products that offer excellent passenger comfort finding acceptance among our retail and fleet customers.”
“The ABP travel team was a demanding customer and demonstrated a clear understanding of what they were looking for in the cars they wanted to include in their fleet. They were convinced after we demonstrated the suitability and reliability of the Figo for their key accounts,” he added.
Receiving the key on behalf of ABP Travels, its proprietor Anil Chillar said, “We were looking for a reliable, comfortable and fuel-efficient vehicle for our fleet. We were very convinced about the Figo’s performance on all these counts and the helpfulness of the Ford fleet team at every stage.”
Ford India’s healthy relationship and constant engagement with the dealer helped clinch the deal in Figo’s favour. The sales team worked hard to break their preference of a rival product by demonstration of the value-for-money package in Figo. Ford India’s fleet team also organized several ‘ride and drives’ and provided a strong commitment on After Sales/Low Cost of Ownership to make the buyer convinced.
The direct dealing from Ford India’s fleet team and their commitment to the client was instrumental in the win, said Navneet Singh, national fleet manager, Ford India. “We kept the communication open with the dealer at every level and finally a relationship driven package of value, excellent product, commitment and services won us this deal,” he said. The dealer was also promised a faster TAT in workshop, low maintenance cost, parts availability and product reliability to sign this deal with Ford.
Ford Figo, which was ranked as India’s most dependable premium compact vehicle by J.D. Power’s 2013 India Vehicle Dependability Study (VDS), was also the preferred car of some other tour/charter operators this year. Other significant Figo wins include delivery of 30 cars to Karthik Cabs in Chennai, 37 cars to Zoom self-drive cars in Bangalore and 25 cars to the Nepal Supreme Court. The Kathmandu Airport Taxi Association operates an 80-car mix of Figos and Classics which were purchased recently.
