SHANGHAI, China — Ford has launched a special 5-door Fiesta hatchback in China for young customers looking for a car with a more sporty and stylish appearance.
Featuring striking white body paint with blue stripes and sporty rear and side skirts, the blue & white version is a new addition to Ford's existing Fiesta product line-up in China. The company began offering 1,500 models of the special version to customers earlier this month (March).
The Fiesta special edition comes with a powerful 1.5L Duratec petrol engine which delivers up to 76 kW of power and 138 Nm of torque. The all-aluminium engine design contributes significantly to overall weight saving, while enabling better vehicle performance and handling.
Safety features such as Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD), Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), front, side and side-curtain airbags - as well as rear parking sensors, are all standard equipment on both the automatic and manual transmission versions.
"This newly launched Fiesta will greatly appeal to younger customers. The blue & white paint and sporty, dynamic bodyline, gives it a unique look on the road and makes you feel like you're driving a high performance car. The 1.5L engine was also very responsive during acceleration, which gave me great confidence during takeover," said Huang Zhenqiao, editor from Autohome,com.cn in a test drive review for the website.
Since its launch in China in 2009, Ford Fiesta has become a hot-selling vehicle in the small car segment, with more than 190,000 models sold during the past three years.
