COLOGNE, Germany – An annual online competition to find Germany’s best Ford Fan Website has attracted a record number of applications.
Ford received 132 nominations for the “2012 Ford FanAwards”. Internet users cast 4,390 votes for the best websites in five categories – simply by clicking their favourites at www.ford-fanaward.de
In the category of vintage / classic cars the “Alt Ford Freunde” club (www.alt-ford-freunde.de
) was victorious once again with a total of 572 votes. Runner-up in this category was the “Ford Oldtimer und Motorsport Club Cologne” (www.fomcc.de
) with 308 votes, followed by the “Escort MK4-Club” for its website www.escort-mk4.de
with 242 votes.
In the “Clubs” category, the “First Mustang Club of Germany” finally crowned its third attempt in the competition with a golden “2012 Ford FanAward” receiving 473 votes. The website www.fordfan.de
placed second, just 89 votes behind. The award winning trio was completed by the “Ford Focus Club Deutschland” (www.ffcd.net
) which received 301 votes.
The gold, silver and bronze awards in the “Communities” category went to www.fordboard.de
with 486 votes, the tuning community “Fiesta-Ka-Forum” (www.fiesta-ka-forum.de
) with 420 votes and the operators of www.kuga-freunde.de
(273 votes) who entered the competition for the first time.
New to this year's competition was the tender for “brand ambassador”. The brand ambassador will accompany Ford for the next two years and get an insight into the company and its products. The winners chosen from 74 applicants are Andrea Schmidt, Christian Winkler and Stefan Klausmeyer. The award in the special “Social Media” category went to Anna Bundy.
An honorary award was granted to the website www.fordpins.jimdo.com
for its exemplary and in-depth presentation of Ford pins and their history.
The 2012 Ford FanAwards will be handed over to the winners on November 26 during a special ceremony in Cologne.
