BANGKOK, Thailand — Ford Thailand recorded its best-ever performance at the recent Bangkok International Motor Show, garnering 4,008 bookings that represented 7.1 percent of all customer orders taken at the Show.
The impressive order-take was driven by the continued expansion of the Ford lineup in Thailand and strong customer demand for the company’s increasingly popular and class-leading One Ford vehicles.
Ford used the Bangkok Show for the ASEAN reveal of the all-new Ford Focus, which attracted significant interest from attendees that resulted in 361 pre-orders ahead of its official launch, which is planned for August.
"This is the first time we have taken orders so far in advance of a vehicle launch, and the fantastic response we had at the Show helps to confirm that the all-new Focus – like the all-new Fiesta and all-new Ranger – will re-define its segment,” said Saroj Kiatfuengfoo, vice president, Marketing, Sales and Service, Ford Thailand.
Customers who placed a pre-booking order for the all-new Focus at the Show were awarded all-new ‘Ford Focus VIP Premiere’ status, a special programme offered in Thailand that provides members with a series of unique opportunities and privileges.
Ford’s strong order-take was also driven by the continued success of the class-leading Ford Fiesta, which received a total of 2,367 bookings. The Fiesta lineup was given a recent boost with the launch of the Fiesta 1.5L Ti-VCT with six-speed automatic PowerShift transmission, which qualifies for Thailand's First Car Owner Policy.
The class-defining all-new Ford Ranger also continued to generate exceptional demand by receiving 1,166 bookings at the Show. Extraordinary demand for the all-new Ranger has led to overall bookings of more than 15,000 units to date, with more than 4,500 trucks having already been delivered to Thai customers across the country.
"These are very exciting times for Ford as we continue to expand our line-up with outstanding One Ford vehicles that are segment-leaders in quality, fuel efficiency, safety, smart design and value,” added Saroj.
The impressive Motor Show numbers continue the momentum of Ford in Thailand, including its all-time best quarterly performance during the recent January-March period that increased 48 percent year-over-year to 9,961 units.
