Ford Employees Put All-New Ford Focus To The Test

DATE: Will be calculated from "Release Start Date" field.

KHAO YAI, Thailand — Among the activities organised by Ford to build awareness and excitement for the launch of the all-new Ford Focus in Thailand, the employee test drive in the scenic town of Khao Yai was one of the most exciting, encouraging and inspiring of events.

The full day immersion for almost 200 Ford employees included both classroom sessions and specially tailored test drives that were  divided into three stations to highlight each feature of the all-new Ford Focus.

The first station was set to test the  performance and handling of the all-new Focus. Each driver was encouraged to test drive four cars on a slalom track, including the new Focus hatchback, the new Focus sedan, and two competitor vehicles from the same segment.. The drivers then had a chance to floor the accelerator and experience the all-new Focus’ powerful 2.0L Ti-VCT GDI engine on a long straightaway, and compare its performance with the rival vehicles.
The second station, which was everyone’s favourite, was all about safety. Driving on a curvy test track, the Focus’ Electronic Stability Programme helped drivers negotiate a sharp bend with confidence, while the Anti-lock Brake System ensured full control and directional stability of the vehicle during extreme braking.
“Compared with competitor vehicles at this station, the all-new Focus made me feel safest and most confident while driving,” said Panitta Tirawipas, executive administrative assistance, who participated in the full-day test drive activity.
At the final station, employees had a chance to experience the unprecedented levels of smart driver assistance technologies in the all-new Ford Focus, including Active Park Assist, Active City Stop, Blind Spot Information System, and the hands-free voice-activated in-car connectivity technology Ford SYNC® system..
“This was my first time to test drive the all-new Focus, and all the smart features were very easy to use. Apart from these impressive functions, I also like the sleek design and the driving quality which make the all-new Focus a true class-leader,” said Jirawat Jeeradeepalung, Human Resources Manager, who helped to organise the event.
“It’s not often that we get to test drive different vehicles within one day, and the overall feedback from this event was truly satisfying. Everyone enjoyed the product comparison training and agreed that the all-new Ford Focus will win the hearts of Thai consumers who are looking for an unmatched package of quality, safety, fuel efficiency and smart technologies in the compact car segment,” he concluded.
