Ford Credit Britain Celebrates Options Milestone

DATE: Will be calculated from "Release Start Date" field.

BRENTWOOD, Essex – Ford Credit Britain has thanked Mrs Tuckwood, the one millionth customer who purchased a new Ford using the Ford Options finance product, by removing all interest charges from her agreement.

The one-million-customer milestone was reached 21 years after Ford Options was first launched, and in the same year that Ford Credit Britain celebrated its 50th anniversary.

“Our one millionth new Ford Options customer is great news for us and for our Ford dealer partners, who can build a deeper relationship with their loyal customers,” said Mark Ovenden, chairman and managing director, Ford of Britain. “Ford Options helps our customers enjoy a new Ford more often, and it underlines Ford Credit’s place as an integral part of the Ford brand in Britain. We look forward to working with Ford Credit in the true spirit of Go Further to achieve even greater success”.

Ford Options offers customers of new and used Ford vehicles three options at the end of their contract. They can either take a new vehicle, keep their existing one, or hand their vehicle back. After 21 years in the market, Options is now a key tool for retail sales in dealerships across Europe, and has made Ford’s vehicles accessible to a generation of motorists.

“It was my privilege to join with Ford Orpington, part of Bristol Street Motors, to meet Mrs Tuckwood and hand over her new Fiesta,” said David Andrews, managing director, Ford Credit Britain & Ireland. “Achieving our one million customer milestone would not be possible without our invaluable bond with Ford and the dealers, and I thank them for their continued partnership.”

A key business goal for the Ford Credit team in 2014 is to continue to renew customers with an expiring finance contract into a new Ford. “We aim to drive superior customer loyalty and satisfaction by treating our customers with fairness and respect”, said Andrews. “By doing so we will help Ford and its dealers sell more vehicles, more often – generating revenues that can be re-invested in developing great new Ford vehicles.”

Ford Credit Britain is based in Ford’s offices in Warley and in its Customer Service centre in St Albans, Hertfordshire. Today, some 280 Ford Credit employees meet the financing needs of Ford of Britain’s dealers, retail and fleet customers across the country.
