DATE: Will be calculated from "Release Start Date" field.

NEW DELHI, India — With substantial customer interest building around EcoSport, second of Ford’s eight new global products coming to India, the excitement got a notch higher with India’s premier TV channel NDTV bestowing the CNB-AAA ‘Best PR and Communications Team award 2012’ to ‘Team Ford Communications’ that worked together with regional team and agency partners for the impactful Global Reveal of Ford’s stunning urban SUV in New Delhi earlier this year.

The award was received the award at a glittering ceremony at the Formula 1 Buddh International Circuit near New Delhi last week.

“This award manifests the good work that a blended team effort is able to deliver. With this award we end 2012 and set foot into 2013 on a jubilant note. Since the Global Reveal at the 2012 New Delhi Auto Expo, EcoSport has generated tremendous interest and aspiration among Indian consumers and we are heading into an exciting launch year with our urban SUV,” said Deeptie Sethi, head of communications for Ford India.
The Global Reveal of the EcoSport was conducted at a glittering ceremony at Taj Palace, New Delhi in January this year with Alan Mulally, president and CEO of Ford Motor Company and the then Ford APA president Joe Hinrichs in attendance. The shiny Molten Orange hue and the flowing lines of Ford’s legendary Kinetic design on the compact SUV had the packed media gallery impressed which was followed by some great coverage.
“We were the first to recognise the people behind the products, by awarding technology, marketing, communications and PR efforts. The CNB-AAA categories were conceived by NDTV’s auto Editor Siddharth Vinayak Patankar, and he received tremendous support from our in-house marketing and ad specialist Shruti Verma Singh of All About Ads,” said a spokesman for the organizing committee.
Ford India’s Communications team won the award in a category that had Mercedes B Class, Mahindra Racing, Mahindra Reva and Volkswagen Jetta as other nominees. Several TV commercials and campaigns from leading automotive manufacturers also figured in the final awards list this year.
The NDTV Car and Bike Awards, now in their eighth edition, have grown to clearly stand out amongst the clutter of auto awards as one the most credible. The awards have also been trendsetters, with many categories like a special set of awards for Communications and Marketing being emulated by others. Eminent and multi-skilled set of jurors judge the product and marketing categories.
Featuring many cutting edge technologies like SYNC and the award-winning EcoBoost engine, the EcoSport is widely believed to be next game-changer for Ford in India.
