Ford Chartered Accountants Network to Share Knowledge

DATE: Will be calculated from "Release Start Date" field.

CHENNAI, India — Ford Chartered Accountants (FOCAS), began in 2009 as a study circle for the benefit of Chartered Accountancy Professionals (Indian version of CPA) in the organization. Over the last four years, the small group has grown into a society, and has become an important program of knowledge enrichment for Finance professionals in general.

At the fourth Anniversary celebration of FOCAS, G. Ramaswamy, Past President, Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), delivered an enlightening seminar on areas that need the focus of Finance and Accounting Professionals.
Apart from helping Chartered Accountants complete their professional learning commitments, this forum lays a platform for Finance professionals to learn about Indian Accounting standards and practices.
“While the organization helps in my overall professional development, this forum enhances my technical knowledge and understanding, and helps me keep in touch with my academic recognitions” remarked PR. Babu, Chartered Accountant and General Manager, Human Resources, Global Business Services.
“I have been attending these sessions regularly over the last four years and the knowledge that I have gained is truly immeasurable. This year, as a part of the organizing committee, I understand the amount of effort and collaboration that goes into every single session, and this would not be possible without the support of Senior Management” said Thanuja Balaji, Convener, FOCAS.
The forum regularly organizes workshops and seminars by eminent Industry Professionals covering an impressive range of topics including tax laws, IFRS, costing, cyber laws, risk management and internal control. These sessions are attended by over 250 employees across Ford in India.
This year, during their fourth anniversary celebration, the FOCAS team inaugurated a mobile library stocking over 70 Management books for the benefit of the employees.
In his address, David Dubensky, Executive Director, Global Business Services thanked the FOCAS members for sustaining this initiative for four years and said “FOCAS fosters functional and technical excellence, and thus, embodies ONE Ford Behaviors. What is unique about the forum is that it was started on a small scale, and over the years, we have not only sustained this initiative, but we have expanded it, reaching out to a large audience across Ford in India.”
