BANGKOK, Thailand — Strong demand across the entire range of Ford vehicles during the Thailand International Motor Expo 2011 helped drive Ford’s bookings to a total of 3,495 units during the 12-day event, nearly tripling the number of bookings at the Expo last year.
Leading the charge on the Ford stand was the class-leading All-New Ford Ranger, which was publicly launched in Thailand at the Expo and took in orders of more than 2,000 units. Total nationwide bookings for the All-New Ranger to-date stand at more than 4,000 units.
"The strength of orders for the All-New Ranger clearly demonstrates the immediate and wide appeal of this incredibly versatile truck,” said Saroj Kiatfuengfoo, vice president, Marketing, Sales and Service, Ford Thailand.
“With a class-leading package of comfort and convenience, quality, safety, fuel efficiency and smart technologies, the All-New Ford Ranger has been comprehensively redesigned and engineered to bring today’s compact truck customers everything they want," added Saroj.
Ford celebrated the ASEAN launch of the range-topping Double Cab 4x4 3.2L VG Turbo Wildtrak at the Expo, and announced pricing for six additional All-New Ranger models, bringing the total to nine on sale now in Thailand.
The All-New Ford Fiesta recorded bookings of 1,300 units, with customers snapping up nearly 700 units of the class-leading 1.6L Fiesta despite its exclusion from the First Car Owner policy.
“The All-New Fiesta continues to connect with Thai customers in so many different ways, and remains one of the clear leaders in the highly-competitive small car segment,” said Saroj.
