 Ford Announces 20 Finalists and Kicks-Off Voting for All-New Ford Focus ‘Start it. Share it. Win it.’ Pre-launch Campaign

BANGKOK, Thailand Ford Thailand today announced that voting has begun for its interactive consumer pre-launch campaign – ‘All-New Ford Focus…Start it. Share it. Win it’ – with 20 finalists from across the country vying for public votes online, with one lucky finalist winning an all-new Ford Focus Titanium+ model.
 
The 20 finalist’s videos are now available for viewing on www.facebook.com/fordfocus. The general public can vote for their favorite video from July 18-August 7.
 
Ford has launched a new television commercial to help raise public awareness about the voting phase of the campaign and to inform people where to go to see and vote on the videos.
 
The finalist that receives the most votes by August 7 will be announced at the public launch event of the all-new Ford Focus in Bangkok on the following day, 8 August.
 
During a ten-week period from May 11 to July 8, nearly 4,700 Thai consumers personally experienced the first-in-market and first-in-segment features of the all-new Ford Focus at 20 ‘Start it. Share it. Win it’ events nationwide.
 
Each participant was filmed in real-time during their ‘smart demo’, capturing their spontaneous reactions. Participants’ videos were uploaded to Facebook and the participant with the most number of views each week was deemed the winner of their event location.
 
To date, the campaign videos have been collectively viewed more than 435,000 times.
 
Special Consumer Drive for Finalists
 
As part of the “Start it. Share it. Win it.” campaign, Ford recently hosted all 20 finalists and one friend at an exclusive Customer VIP Ride-and-Drive program for the all-new Focus from July 14-15 in Krabi, Thailand.
The Customer VIP Drive was an additional component of Ford’s International Media Drive event for the all-new Focus, and allowed the campaign finalists to be the first consumers in Thailand to experience the all-new Ford Focus in real-world conditions.
 
The finalists received a personal briefing with Ford’s design and engineering experts who were in Thailand for the media drive, before heading out on a 170 kilometer drive route that twisted along the beautiful coastline of Krabi.
 
The finalists were invited to share their experiences in Krabi with the Facebook community through interactive sessions that Ford hosted on-location.
 
“The participants were very impressed with the superb quality of the all-new Ford Focus,” said Adisai Sirisinha, marketing director, Ford Thailand. “In addition to loving the excellent handling and comfort of the new Focus, they were amazed with the smart features such as Active Park Assist, Active City Stop and the Ford SYNC® connectivity system.”
 
The participants also enjoyed an exclusive performance by the band iHear – led by the high-profile blogger from iPatt.com – and had the opportunity to interact with popular MET 107 personalities, DJ Bomb and DJ Map.
 
The award-winning Ford SYNC® system is an advanced software platform that gives consumers the convenience and flexibility to bring digital media players and Bluetooth®- enabled mobile phones into the all-new Focus and operate them via voice commands. 
 
A number of other smart features in the all-new Focus are a first in the segment for ASEAN. These include Active Park Assist – which is also first in market – Active City Stop, Blind Spot Information System (BLIS), Smart Keyless Entry and Ford Power Start.

Win it’ events across the country has been overwhelming,” added Sirisinha. “It’s evident from the nearly 4,700 consumer experiences and the Customer VIP Ride-and-Drive in Krabi that the Focus meets the modern lifestyle needs of Thai consumers and will significantly raise the bar for this segment in Thailand.”
 
The all-new Focus is now available in Ford dealer showrooms nationwide so consumers can experience its affordable, smart technologies and features for themselves.

Ford will officially launch the all-new Focus in Thailand on August 8. The all-new Focus is the next of eight all-new One Ford vehicles that the company is launching by mid-decade.
