DATE: Will be calculated from "Release Start Date" field.

PRAGUE, CZECH REPUBLIC – The Focus has been voted Car of the Year in the Czech Republic for the third time.
The prestigious award is presented by the country’s Automobile Importers Association and Automotive Industry Association.

The finalists for the title were the award’s five category winners, the Škoda Citigo (city cars), Audi A6 (mid- and upper class), Range Rover Evoque (off-road, SUV, MPV), Porsche 911 Carrera (sports cars) and the Focus (compact segment).

The five finalists were chosen from 41 entrants. Both the public and an expert jury of 31 motoring journalists were invited to vote for their favourites. The competition was very popular and the organisers received 63,355 valid votes.

The Focus was voted the overall winner and Car of the Year for its excellent driving dynamics, wide range of state-of-the-art engines and body styles and the many advanced driver assistance systems it has brought to the compact segment.

“The triumph of Ford Focus is truly great success for us,” said Jan Laube, CEO of Ford Czech Republic. “Focus has now won this award three times. I am delighted that Czech motorists put more and more emphasis on quality and advanced technology instead of lowest prices. And I am happy that our new Focus, with its dynamics, engines and technology, scored highly with both public and experts alike.”

Focus won Car of the Year awards in Czech Republic in 1999 and 2006.
