MOSCOW, Russia –The Focus and Explorer were named the best vehicles in their classes at the Car of the Year in Russia award presentation ceremony.
Ford models were on the shortlist for the 2013 COTY awards in five categories. Focus was awarded the best car of the year in the C-segment category, winning for the third time in a row. It was also the sixth COTY award received by Focus in Russia. The Explorer was named the best model in the full-size SUV category, having outstripped competitors as the Range Rover and the Toyota Land Cruiser.

The Car of the Year in Russia awards are voted for by the Russian public. This year the vote was held from January 1 to March 31. Some 1,370,000 people voted for their favourite cars during those three months.
Russians chose the best vehicles from among 385 models officially sold in the country, in 23 categories and three special nominations. This year’s award ceremony was the 13th.
