Fiesta ST Crowned UK’s Best Value Driver’s Car

DATE: Will be calculated from "Release Start Date" field.

BRENTWOOD, England - Ford’s Fiesta ST has seen off Toyota’s GT86 and Renault’s Mégane RS to clinch the title of Britain’s Best Value Driver’s Car following a head-to-head showdown staged by Autocar Magazine.

Bestowing the honour, Autocar’s Andrew Frankel writes: “Like all the best hot hatches, from the original 1975 Volkswagen Golf GTI to date, there is no hidden secret to explain the excellence of the ST. Instead, its capacity to drop the jaw of all who drove it stems simply from taking a world-class platform and updating it with the simple tools of intelligence and experience, and with a sizeable slice of honest-to-goodness passion thrown in. That’s why it really is more profitable to steer it through the apex more by foot than hand and why, as a result, you’ll hit that apex every time as the car makes the very most of your talents, be they modest, nonexistent or stellar…

“The ST is the most beautifully judged hot hatch of its generation, a car for real drivers that also happens to work brilliantly in the real world. But it’s the price that clinches it: at under £17,000, it is the best value driver’s car of this era and, we’d be happy to bet, most others, too.”
