During our annual Global Week of Caring event, we always reiterate that caring and contributing to a better world are things we do every day, not just for a week.
I was reminded of this when receiving the news today, that in response to the tragic typhoon in the Philippines, more than 900 Ford employees, family members and friends from around the world, have made donations of more than $108,000. The Ford Fund has graciously agreed to match donations up to $100,000.
This selfless generosity speaks volumes about who we are and what we stand for.
Thanks to your generosity and the matching funds from the Ford Fund, the total amount that will be given to support disaster relief and recovery in the Philippines will be more than $500,000. The Ford Philippines team will announce this tonight at their 13th annual Henry Ford Awards event.
One of our hardest hit dealers in the Philippines sent me a note this week, saying “we are proud to be part of the Ford family. It is not just an organization, it is human and fully alive.”
I couldn’t agree more, and I am so proud to be part of this team.
Thank you for your generosity and for all you continue to do.
