– Gates of Harlow, a leading UK dealership group, recently welcomed a special visitor to its headquarters. Elena Ford, vice president, Global Dealer and Consumer Experience, Ford Motor Company, toured the long-established, family-owned business while on a trip to the UK.
Elena, the great-great Granddaughter of Ford Motor Company’s founder Henry Ford and the granddaughter of Henry Ford II, visited the modern Gates premises in Edinburgh Way, Harlow, Essex.
Gates has been established since 1920 when Frank G. Gates made entered the then fledgling motor industry in premises in Woodford, Essex. Today, Gates is one of the oldest-established Ford dealers in the UK, with eight Ford dealerships throughout Essex and Hertfordshire.
Elena is pictured below with Heath Greenall, managing director of the Gates Group and the great grandson of Frank G. Gates. They are pictured with a 1915 Model-T Ford. The vehicle is owned by Gates and will be featured in the forthcoming series of the award winning, period drama “Downton Abbey.”
