CHUNG-LI, Taiwan — Five Ford dealership principals in Taiwan visited Ford Lio Ho (FLH) ahead of Chinese New Year to thank the team for a remarkable performance during the past year.
The gesture came after a sales hike for January: the company sold a total of 4,185 vehicles last month, of which Ford brand accounts for 2,605 units, representing a 23.5 percent year-on-year increase. It was also the best monthly sales volume since February 2011.
The dealership principals brought drinks to the FLH canteen to express their gratitude to the FLH team and discuss how they now need to work harder to meet growing customer demand.
“We really appreciate the efforts made by our fellow colleagues at FLH,” said Chou Yung-shung, chairman of the Ford Dealers Association. “Together we can make a difference. I believe Ford vehicles will have a brighter future here in Taiwan.”
Another reason for Ford dealers and FLH employees to celebrate was the all-new Focus, which hit the Taiwanese market last November and has already received 3,600 orders, outperforming major competitors such as the Honda Civic and Hyundai Elantra. The all-new Ford Focus has quickly become among the top three best-selling medium vehicles in the local market.
“Focus is one of the most successful products developed under One Ford,” said Milton Lai, general sales manager, FLH. “From dealers to FLH employees, everyone is confident about the brand and looking forward to the vehicles that FLH will bring to Taiwan in future.”
Food and drinks were served at the company canteen by the Taiwan Operating Committee (TOC) of FLH. It is a custom for the TOC to hold a lunch party for employees during the New Year period. Employees were happy to see the great sales result during January. Together with dealers, they all look forward a successful Year of Snake.
