DEARBORN - The 2013 Specialty Equipment Market Association’s (SEMA) biggest event of the year, the SEMA show which takes place at the Las Vegas Convention Center Nov. 5-8, provides a unique opportunity for Ford to build relationships within the customization industry and display creative and innovative ways to take Ford’s already great vehicles to the next level.
Ford has a significant history with SEMA and has forged several long lasting relationships with custom vehicle builders. This year vehicles were provided to builders across the United States with the only instruction being to represent Ford’s Go Further theme/motto.
Nearly 60 Ford vehicles will be on display both inside and outside of the convention center. A variety of these have been selected to be part of Ford’s DreamCase display and 10 customized Transit Connect wagons and vans will fill an exhibit intended to create Vandemonium by showcasing the versatility these products offer.
One example includes a Ford Transit Connect Wagon customized for the BMX crowd. The wagon can carry 6 passengers as well as their bikes and offers innovative storage solutions for bike repair supplies.
Celebrity appearances are another over-the-top element of the SEMA show. This year, rocker Gene Simmons of Kiss and his wife, actress Shannon Tweed, will reveal a 1956 Ford F-100 that will be auctioned off for charity.
