COLOGNE, Germany – Ford’s Cologne plant has received further recognition for its Community Involvement programme, receiving an excellence award from State Secretary, Bernd Neuendorf.
The award was presented in the Düsseldorf Family Ministry to Dr. Wolfgang Hennig, who is responsible for the programme within Ford Werke.
The award has a cash prize of €500, which will be share between the Henry Ford College in Cologne and the organisers of the Gandhi Award for promoting peaceful co-existance.
In the Ford Community Involvement Programme, employees spend two days per year, or more than 16 hours, working on community-benefitting projects. Last year, some 830 Ford volunteers took part in 115 projects.
Since the volunteer programme started in May 2000, Ford employees have supported 1,260 projects.
