SHANDONG, China — The Mondeo Sport Edition hasn’t taken long to impress in China.
"Elegant", "Sporty" and "Impressive" were heard frequently when journalists were asked to describe their initial impressions of the car, the latest addition to Ford's best-selling midsize car in China.
As one of the stars of Auto China 2012, the new Mondeo edition is now ready to reveal its uniqueness and capability to the media by taking them on a four-day test drive in East China's Shandong province.
Unlike previous test drive programmes focused mainly on auto media, the “Elegant and Swift--2012 Ford Mondeo-zhisheng SVP Experience Day” was designed primarily for lifestyle media including key online influencers. The four-day event, featuring a mix of road test drives, a wine-tasting salon and free-style vehicle shooting, provided journalists with a perfect opportunity to put the vehicle to the test while enjoying the stunning view along the way.
"Upgrades to both the exterior and interior make the sporty edition stand out as a more personalised car. I believe this limited edition may soon be sold out," said Gao Tian from Beijing newspaper, LifeStyle.
Launched in China in early May, the Mondeo Sport Edition is limited to only 2,000 units with two colours – black and pearl white. Compared to normal models, the Sport Edition has an array of sporty features and safety upgrades like rain-sensing wipers, tyre pressure monitor, front parking sensors and driver knee airbags.
