Chinese Journalists and Consumers Learning from Focus ST Masters

DATE: Will be calculated from "Release Start Date" field.

SHANGHAI & ZHUHAI, China — ST enthusiasts in China have been learning from true racing masters.

Racing drivers Rainey He, Andy Yan and Tengyi Jiang, who helped Changan Ford Racing team win the China Touring Car Championship last year, helped coach ST fans at two “Schooled by ST” events in Zhuhai and Shanghai. The events attracted more than 300 racing car enthusiasts, including journalists from major cities and consumers who signed up for the activity online and at dealers.

After a short introduction and a briefing on activity flow and safety, the three racing heroes gave the audience an exciting drifting show in the Focus ST after which the media were invited to sit in the car to experience the drifting excitement for themselves. Meanwhile, 24 semi-finalist consumers in another area were fighting hard to achieve a top three finish in a fierce ST driving skills competition.

The winners of the competition were announced and awarded by the famous racing drivers and JD Tang, director, Marketing, Sales and Service, Ford China. Journalists were then given the opportunity to test drive the all-new Focus ST, giving them an opportunity to try out the slalom obstacle track, sudden braking and lane changing under the guidance of professional coaches.

“I’m very happy to have the opportunity to test drive the Focus ST. The good feel of handling, stability while accelerating, braking, and even the roar of the engine made driving Focus ST a great experience,” commented by Liu Ziliang, from Guangdong TV.

“The acceleration of the Focus ST is really impressive. In comparison with the Golf GTi, the Focus ST is more fun to drive,” said Feng Jue, from Shanghai Business Daily.

Shen Xinhua from Jiefang Daily said, “The Focus ST boasts outstanding exterior and excellent performance, and I believe that it will be a great hit in the market.”

“I participated in this kind of racing competition many times, and have tested driving different performance cars. However, the Focus ST brings me something different and without doubt I will consider it as my second car purchase choice,” said Chen Wenjun, from one of the leading lifestyle TV shows nationwide, Channel Young.
