SHANGHAI, China -The penultimate round of the 2010 China Tour Car Championship (CTCC) was also the series winning round for the Changan Ford Racing Team.
A remarkable first, second and third place finish from drivers Tengyi Jiang, Andy Yan and Martin Cao in Shanghai on October 24 produced an unassailable 33 point lead for the team in the 2010 CTCC championship – this is the team’s third CTCC series win since 2006!
The second-to-last race at the Shanghai International Circuit (China’s formula one circuit) was full of drama and excitement from start to finish. Despite occupying front spot for much of the race, it took a last circuit passing maneuver from Jiang in his Ford Focus to clinch first place. His team mates Yan and Cao completed their domination of the race with their respective second and third place finishes.
Jiang, Yan and Cao credited the excellent performance, braking and handling of their Ford Focus vehicles in helping them achieve the “Shanghai grand slam” finish. In Shanghai they were also cheered on by a passionate and noisy crowd of more than 1,000 team fans - many of whom, own and drive a Ford Focus.
Although the CTCC cup is already in the trophy cabinet, the Changan Ford Racing team wants to end the season in style at the final race at the Guangdong International Circuit on December 4 and 5.
