CHENGDU, China – The Changan Ford Racing Team maintained its leading position in the China Touring Car Championship (CTCC) on July 19, with Rainey He and Andy Yan finishing first and third, respectively. 

The third round of the CTCC was held in Chengdu, the Team’s home circuit. Sunday's race started in a torrential downpour, which provided a great opportunity for the Ford Focus racing cars to display their ability to navigate the wet and dangerous track. 

Tengyi Jiang was unfortunately not able to finish the race due to an accident but his teammate He took over his position and led until the very end. Yan, who started the race far behind the other drivers, placed a respectable third.

With the Team's impressive results at Chengdu, they accumulated an additional 40 points and continue to lead the CTCC team standings with a total of 116 points. He and Yan ranked first and second respectively, in the individual driver standings.

“Today’s heavy rain had a significant impact on all of us and we were tested on the chassis, the stability of the car, and our own individual stamina,” said He after finishing the race. “The wet and slippery conditions could cause a driver to hesitate while going into a turn. However, I was totally confident that my Focus would maintain its top speed at every turn.”

The Team intend carrying on their winning streak to the fourth leg of the CTCC series, which will be held at the Erdos International Circuit from July 9-10.

Recently, Kenneth Ma, president of FRD Motorsports, the Team’s operator, visited Team Aon at the Croft Circuit in North Yorkshire, England, where Team Aon races the Ford Focus Touring Car in the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC).
